Cotton is a crop where child labour has historically been a risk, particularly at sowing and harvest. The Foundation runs awareness and support work to keep children in school and out of the field, reinforcing organic certification's own social criteria and protecting the next generation's prospects. School awareness sessions also carry sustainability and stubble-burning messages home through children.
